Dear Renee,

I finally found out what type of job I'm going to have, I'll either be working in a remote radio site or at the mobile parts station here on base. For the next 5 or 6 weeks I'll be spending some time at each of the sites in order to get to know the communication set up of the base, after that I'll be stationed permanently someplace and by that time, I should be pretty well settled down.

This base is in the middle of nowhere. There is absolutely nothing outside the gate for almost 2 miles, then all you have is a Burger King and a few stores.  In order to get anyplace, I'll have to go into the city of Jacksonville, which takes a half hour to 45 minutes by bus.  So for right now it looks like I'll be staying on base for quite a bit, but there is a lot to do around here. They've got a theater, bowling, boats to rent, a club, and a bunch of hobby shops all over the place. Well, I've got to go now, here is my address, write soon.

Love,

Mark
